Club applies for Community Chest grant
The Club Secretary pulled out all the stops to get this application submitted before the 21st December deadline, with the application form running to a total of 9 pages!

The Community Chest Grant Scheme was established to support voluntary and community activity in Flintshire. In the past a wide range of community groups have secured grants to provide local services and help promote community spirit, for example, sports clubs, childcare organisations, health groups, tenants and residents associations. Any non-profit making community / voluntary organisation operating in or serving all or part of Flintshire can apply.

Our club applied for the maximum award of £1,000, and if we're successful the money will go towards the considerable cost of re-finishing the surface of the courts.

The fund's panel are due to meet on 18th February to decide on applications, and the club expect to hear soon after this date as to whether or not we have been successful.

Update 27th February 2013
Notification has been received from Flintshire County Council that "Unfortunately on this occasion your application was unsuccessful, due to your application not meeting the grant criteria". So, disappointingly, the club has missed out on any support from this funding source.
