FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

MEMBERSHIP

Do members pay to book courts?

No. If you have a club membership, you will not pay an extra fee to book a court. Before booking, you will need to log into your ClubSpark account using the LTA login you created when you bought your membership. You can login at the top right hand corner of the booking page.

Please note: At certain times of year, there will be a small fee for members who wish to play in the evenings as this will ensure the floodlights are turned on for your session.

How far ahead can members book courts?

Members can book courts 7 days in advance.

I’m a member – can I bring a non-member with me to play?

Guests are welcome to play, however you will have to pay a guest fee online before playing. Click here for more information on bringing a guest.

Can I book a court even if I’m not a member of the club?

Certainly! Courts can be booked by non-members 24 hours in advance and are charged by the half-hour at a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 2 hours. For more information, please click here.

How do I cancel my membership?

We’re sorry to see you go – have you checked our membership page for alternative membership options? If you have joined on a non-contract basis, you are free to cancel at any time. Contract members can cancel at any time once they have completed the initial 12-month membership, as per the terms and conditions of membership.

If you wish to go ahead with cancelling, please cancel your direct debit with your bank and send us an email letting us know you wish to end your membership. We’ll take care of the rest from our end.

I’m a member – why is the booking sheet unavailable or says there is a fee to book a court?

Before booking a court, you will need to log into your ClubSpark account using the LTA login you would have created when you bought your membership. You can login at the top right hand corner of the booking page.

Please note: At certain times of year, there will be a small fee for members who wish to play in the evenings as this will ensure the floodlights are turned on for your session.

Where is my gate PIN code to access the courts?

The 4 digit code will be on your booking confirmation email. If you haven’t received this email, please check your junk/spam folder.

Help! I’ve booked a court but my gate PIN code isn’t working

Members are able to access the courts 10 minutes prior to their booking. Non-members are only able to access the courts at the time of their booking. If you are within your allotted time and there is an issue with your code, please email the club and a committee member will be happy to assist you.

Can I access the clubhouse during my session?

Adult members may request access to the clubhouse. For more information on using the clubhouse and how to request access, please click here.

Are the courts open all year round?

Rain, shine or snow, the courts at Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club are open all year round. For the colder and darker months (September-April), the floodlights will be in operation on Court 1 & 2 at certain times to ensure you can still play safely. Please be aware during cold spells that the courts and surrounding areas are not gritted and care should be taken if accessing the courts.

Please note: there is a nominal fee of £0.80 per half hour for bookings with floodlights.

I’ve cancelled my booking – will I get my money back?

If you’ve cancelled a booking where you have paid a fee as a non-member, for a guest or for the floodlights, as long as you cancel the booking at least 2 hours in advance, you will receive a refund.
